Jimmy King was born in Anderson, SC, in 1952. From a young age, he supplemented his passion and pursuit of a law career with a fascination with history and political science. After completing his formal education, he returned home to Anderson to practice law. Jimmy soon became a partner in a successful firm, developing his knowledge and experience in serious personal injury, wrongful death, bicycle, motorcycle, automobile and commercial truck accidents, workers’ compensation, insurance claims, as well as all other civil litigation cases.
In 1997, with countless successful cases and more than 20 years of legal experience as an accomplished attorney and partner, Jimmy set off to form his own firm. The KING LAW FIRM, PC, focused on the areas of workers’ compensation, serious automobile and truck accidents, wrongful death, social security disability, nursing home neglect and abuse, and serious personal injury, has grown to an experienced staff dedicated to making sure your legal needs are addressed efficiently and professionally.
Mr. King is a 1972 graduate of Anderson College in Anderson, South Carolina; he also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree, with honors, from the University of Georgia in 1974; and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1976. Jim was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1977 and practices in all Federal and State Courts, and Administrative Tribunals.
He is a member of The Commission on Lawyer Conduct for the Supreme Court of South Carolina. Mr. King is also a member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference, U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, the U.S. Court of Appeals Fourth Circuit.
Jimmy is a member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, where he previously served on the Continuing Legal Education Committee, the Anderson County Bar Association (past president), South Carolina Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice.
Other notable memberships include the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, awarded to attorneys who have worked on cases with verdicts of millions or multi-million dollars. Jimmy currently serves as the president of the Anderson Inns of Court. Mr. King also works with other attorneys throughout the state of South Carolina to resolve their legal cases in his capacity as a Certified Civil Court Mediator and a Certified Civil Court Arbitrator.
